A trip to Queensland’s top end requires a 4wd & plenty of preparation. Follow the ARB boys through their journey from Cairns to Cape Melville and get the insiders tips to a safe and enjoyable trip .In part 2, the boys give their vehicles a rest at Isabella falls before moving into Lakefield National Park where they tackle challenging bulldust holes. The boys roll out their awnings at the Norman River for lunch then continues onto the Kalpowar crossing where Allen catches a 68cm Barramundi.

A trip to Queensland’s top end requires a 4wd & plenty of preparation. Follow the ARB boys through their journey from Cairns to Cape Melville and get the insiders tips to a safe and enjoyable trip. In part 3 the boys prepare for a 1600km drive through brutal roads that turn out to be surprisingly smooth. Closer to the coast the roads get a bit more difficult and the boys set up for a night of bush camping on a 1989 cyclone site. They then meet annual visitors Bill & Alicia where Alicia talks about her wrestle with a crocodile on one of her previous holidays.

4wd from Cairns to Cape Melville – Part 4

In part 4 the boys go from bulldust back to bitumen in the town of Laura. Lockys favourite the Palmer River Roadhouse is the next stop with powered sites, tents, delicious tucker and a gold mining museum. They finish the series with some important recommendations for the tough roads and tough conditions to make sure the trip is a success for all travellers.
